ADHD is having 15 tabs open on your computer because you kept seeing things you liked but didn’t want to get distracted from the thing you were currently doing or forget about it, so you just opened a new tab and they’ve just sat there…for 6 months. but you’re totally going to get back to them, you swear!

Fifteen tabs isn’t normal?

Uh… okay, this is embarrassing, but,

I would be so happy with only 15 tabs.

Turns out, there’s a tech solution to make the tabs more manageable!

There’s a browser extension for Chrome called OneTab that lets you condense these links into a list. Each window becomes a new list, but you can move tabs around between windows and label the new categories. I currently have lists like “To Write/Do,” “Show [Boyfriend],” “To Read: Personal/Career,” “Life Advice to Remember”, “To Read: Psych/Disability/Ed.” Makes it much less scary to close tabs, because they’re on an organized list, so I can always find them and reopen them if needed.

Wig Tangle Prevention with Silicone Spray Tutorial

fabrickind:

Hello everyone!

This is a tutorial to show how to prevent tangles on long wigs from happening, by spraying the wig with some silicone lubricant. It won’t be perfect, as in, you’ll still get tangles, but it’ll help keep your wig smooth, make any tangles you do get easier to remove, and will help prevent the fibers from gripping each other and tangling in the first place. This is especially good on Arda wigs, which are notorious for tangling due to the fibers being somewhat “grippy.” As such, the two example wigs I use are both Arda Ferraris, one that was left mostly in the style it came in and one that was heavily recurled after treating.

This’ll likely get a big long, so under a cut it goes.

new genre concept: soft apocalypse

the world as we know it has ended and mother nature starts taking back what’s hers. there are no zombies or cannibals or murderous bandits. the most valued members of the community are those who know how to garden and farm, sew and weave, treat wounds, work wood or build with bricks, cook from scratch.

people bond together to begin rebuilding instead of killing each other. everyone teaches each other whatever they do know and works together to figure out the stuff none of them know. books become incredibly valued resources because they’re often the only way to learn critical information. if someone is elderly, disabled, or otherwise unable to work at the same level as most of the community, they’re taken care of by the others, not told any sort of “survival of the fittest” bs.

as the generations ware on, communities begin expanding into small cities. some of the settlements even find ways to repurpose solar or wind power on a small scale and have electricity in some of their buildings. storytellers wander the countryside telling tales of the old world in return for some hot stew or a place to rest for the night, and the mythos of the new world start to incorporate elements of the past. the only thing that remains constant is that humans survive, and they do it by working together.

If you’re cold but broke:

ithotyouknew2:

So, my heat in my apartment is temperamental and I’ve lived in apartments with no heat at all so, space heaters are like my best friend. Anyway, REALLY good ones are usually pretty expensive BUT, I bought this lil baby the other day and it keeps my 10×16 room TOASTY. It’s 6 degrees outside and about 60 in the rest of my apartment but I’m super warm with this thing on high. Anyway, if you’re broke but needing heat so you can actually function in your home, buy this heater! It’s only $16!

  • here are some links to some fiber mascaras as well as the type I used (I’m sure you guys can find one at a cheaper price though)
  • here is the absolute best crossplay makeup tutorial I highly recommend it

Alright shitstains listen up because I just found god in a bottle.

If you’re a nerd like me your body’s probably riddled with a few nerd tattoos yeah? Some of ‘em in some pretty obvious places? Maybe you work in a professional environment that frowns upon body ink? Maybe you’re a cosplayer and you have some revealing outfits that you need to cover up for, yeah? Tattoos that you can’t afford that $30 Kat Von D Tattoo cover up because you’re a cheap broke shit?

Story of my life bud.

Now I have a pretty obvious Squad 11 tattoo, because I’m a Bleach nerd and Zaraki Kenpachi is my husband, and honestly it’s difficult to hide it in some of my cosplays because it’s bright and black and right smack dab on my shoulder. Poor planning on my part but hey, squad represent.

You see that glorious miracle up there? That’s Mehron Tattoo Cover. You see those pictures underneath it? Tattoo? What fucking tattoo?! It’s gone!!!! Vamoosed!!! Like I never got the ink in the first place!!!!

This shit is durable, and I mean durable. It’s completely waterproof and that first picture of my tattoo is actually what it looked like after scrubbing at it with two makeup wipes. TWO. It’s not going anywhere

And the best part?

IT COMES IN DIFFERENT SKINTONES. BAM. WHAT.

I mean it’s not phenomenal but hey at least it’s not just “pale as fuck”.

And you wanna know the second best part?

It’s only 12 bucks on Amazon

Yeah. $12. Not $30. Because $12 is much more reasonable than $30.

As for size reference, that’s how big it is in that third picture right there. It’s honestly the best investment I could have made and everybody should know about it.

Go forth and conquer with your newfound knowledge. You’re all welcome.

As someone who used to chair a stage makeup department, Mehron and Ben Nye are going to be cheaper and better than whatever concealer/orange eye shadow/green lipstick whatever weird tutorial you found or expensive-ass luxury concealer.

Why you ask?

Because Mehron and Ben Nye are stage makeup. They’re meant to give thick, full coverage in one layer that can stand up to cameras and stage lights. Blend it out, powder it, and you’ll never look back. Plus it’s cheap enough that you can buy 2 and mix the perfect shade.

This will work on scars, too.

Just an FYI for folks I know who may want to cover for cosplays, work, or personal reasons.

@erinyessaturni

also! kat von d is a nazi sympathizer so this is an option to those of us who don’t want to give money to her!

I’ve been playing so many RPG-Maker games lately so I’m gonna make a little recommendation posts for my own reference, and for anyone who’s interested.

  • Flesh Child – It’s an exploration-based game in the very early stages of development so there’s only two areas accessible, but what’s there is very original and very interesting (and fairly disturbing too).
  • Yume Nikki – I know everyone already knows about Yume Nikki, but I’ll list it anyway. It’s huge and it’s beautiful, and it’s inspiring enough to have a whole wiki devoted to the fan-games it’s spawned.
  • .flow – A pretty popular Yume Nikki fangame, with much more emphasis on horror than that game. Still focuses on exploring a surreal dreamscape to find effects, but it’s a little more lucid and outwardly scary. There’s a few jump scares, but most of its horror comes from the absence in between. Some great pixel art and character designs too.
  • Ib – A story-driven horror adventure about a little girl who gets lost in a museum, where the way you interact with the other characters drastically changes the outcome of the story. Some good puzzles and memorable characters.
  • Lisa – A big trigger warning on this one, and the only one I would say I didn’t actually enjoy. Because you aren’t meant to enjoy it. It’s meant to be disturbing and upsetting, and it’s very good at it. It’s not quite horror and there’s no jump scares, but it’ll leave you feeling uneasy for a while.
  • The Mirror Lied – An abstract story that leaves so much open to interpretation, I don’t think I can even summarize it. It’s very short though, and it’s worth checking out.
  • To the Moon – By the same people as The Mirror Lied, but much more straight-forward and, I think, more enjoyable. Some extremely well-written dialogue makes the characters feel very real, and it even made me cry. It’s the only game here that costs money, but I think it’s worth the price. The link leads to a trailer that summarizes it well.
  • Penpals – A cute and short (yet deceptively unsettling at times) game that’s been floating around tumblr. The art is great and it’s full of weird little bits of personal wisdom.
  • Schuld – A horror-action game where you start off as a man wandering through a dying world in which human limbs are the only thing of any value, and it only gets weirder from there.
  • OFF – The link describes OFF far better than I ever could, but if I could only recommend one game here, it’d be OFF. Probably the largest amount of original content I’ve ever seen in an RPG-Maker game, it’s an actual turn-based RPG full of great surreal art and some kick-ass music.
  • Misao – Anime-styled mystery game with cute character designs. If you liked the style of games like Ib you’ll like Misao. While the graphics aren’t all that particularly gory, the game is still pretty disturbing and involves collecting body parts as a main goal. Can also sometimes be a little silly.
  • Ao Oni – Another mystery solver but with more of a threat level than Ib or Misao. Involves searching a mansion while also being on alert for a demon who can give chase at any time. Sort of reminds me of Clock Tower.
  • Backstage – Horror-action mystery. Story of a man ultimately trying to figure out his reality and his relationships. He was just using the bathroom and then everything got intense. Trigger warning here for some very mature themes in the plot.
  • Clock of Atonement – Slight trigger warning- you play as a girl’s stalker who has the opportunity to change what happened. Very very short.
  • Mad Father – By the same people who made Misao. A slightly disturbing horror adventure about a little girl trying to help her father. Very nice graphics work, all things considered. Collect all the gems in the game for a special ending.
  • Happy Birthday – Fairly short and fairly new, but a fun mystery game nonetheless. A girl is dead at her birthday party and the female detective on the scene must find out what’s going on.
  • The Longing Ribbon – Horror adventure game where you explore a mansion as a group of lost teenagers. The frustrating battle system is mediated by cheats, and the dialogue options are ridiculous in a humorous way (“:)” says a giant dragon). There’s one exceedingly trippy scene.
  • Miserere – A very moody dream exploration game that’s rather reminiscent of Yume Nikki et al. Best played in the dark, headphones in, etc. “Miserere” is Latin for “have mercy,” fun fact. The mind of a space station’s sole inhabitant.
